Music forms an integral part of the school day at Greenholme School. Music within the curriculum is important to all pupils allowing them to develop a sense of culture and experience a wide variety of musical styles. Music is taught throughout the school as a class subject by a specialist teacher and covers all areas of music education, incorporating listening and appraisal, performing and composing.
Many cross curricular and extra activities are available, taking into account the many different levels that pupils have had the opportunity to access. These include a flourishing choir, ensembles and recorder groups. Occasions for pupils to develop their performance skills, both in school and the local community, are plentiful. The Christmas and summer productions are just two of the highlights of the school year.
Pupils may have individual instrumental tuition with specialist woodwind and string teachers visiting the school for this purpose.
