The staff at Greenholme School believe that every child has the right to fulfill their potential. In order to achieve this, all children are monitored closely and if necessary, work is differentiated by the class teacher, with the support of a teaching assistant or a group teacher. If a child needs additional help, the school Individual Educational Needs Co-ordinator (SENCO) makes an informal assessment and discusses the outcome with the parents and the class teacher. An Individual Education Plan is written and additional tuition is available given by a team of trained teachers specialising in specific learning difficulties such as dyslexia. These lessons are either individual or in pairs. We also provide support for children who may not have English as their first language.
Greenholme provides a supportive community for all, where every child’s needs are dealt with sympathetically and discreetly so that they may flourish and reach their full potential.
