Art

Art at Greenholme provides a varied and enriching experience for all pupils.  It allows each child to develop confidence and sensitivity, important for self-expression.

Pupils are encouraged to develop their understanding and knowledge of the diverse roles and functions of art, craft and design.  This is carried out both in the classroom and by visiting galleries, museums and exhibitions.

Children are given the opportunity to explore a wide range of materials and techniques, working in both two and three dimensions, as they encounter art, craft and design from different cultures, both contemporary and historical.

Children’s artwork is always recognised and celebrated in the form of colourful displays throughout the school.

Pupils at Greenholme are given the opportunity to participate in various art competitions, and have had success in winning prizes at both a local and national level.
